Rannsóknastöðin Rif hefur ráðið líffræðinginn Pedro Rodrigues í stöðu forstöðumanns frá og með 10. maí 2021. Pedro starfaði um skeið við Náttúrustofu Suðvesturlands en hann er portúgalskur að uppruna og hefur búið og stundað rannsóknir meðal annars í Portúgal, Chile og á Íslandi. Hann er með doktorspróf í líffræði frá háskólanum á Asoreyjum og hefur áralanga reynslu af rannsóknum, kennslu og ýmsum störfum á sviði náttúruvísinda. Víðtæk reynsla hans og þekking á málaflokknum mun án efa nýtast vel í starfi Rifs á næstu árum.

Rannsóknastöðin Rif fagnar þessum stóra áfanga og býður Pedro Rodrigues hjartanlega velkominn til starfa sem forstöðumaður. Við hlökkum til að vinna með honum að áframhaldandi uppbyggingu Rifs!

Rif Field Station has hired biologist Pedro Rodrigues as Station Manager as of May 10, 2021. Pedro, who is of Portuguese origin, worked for a while as an independent researcher at the Southwest Iceland Nature Research Centre, Iceland. He holds a PhD in biology from the University of the Azores, Portugal, and has lived and worked in Portugal, Iceland, the Azores and Chile. Pedro is an experienced researcher and scientist and his expertise will without a doubt be extremely valuable for Rif.

The board and staff of Rif Field Station would like to welcome Pedro as Rif’s new station manager! We are excited to work with him and continue to strengthen Rif Field Station.
