The Rif Field Station and The Moredun Research Institute (The Moredun Foundation) have won a United Kingdom – Iceland Arctic Science Partnership Scheme bursary with the project “Nanopore sequencing approaches for ecosystem monitoring in the Arctic”. The project will support the establishment of novel research connections between the two countries and the results will provide a solid basis to develop broader bilateral projects in the areas of climate change, environmental disease risk, antimicrobial resistance, and the mitigation of their impacts on biodiversity. The project also involves partners at the University of Edinburgh and Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland (BioSS).
