3. Kría /Arctic tern (Sterna paradisaea)

Krían er mesti ferðalangur jarðar. Hún verpir 1–3 eggjum á Íslandi og flýgur síðan alla leið til Suðurskautslandsins yfir veturinn. Það þýðir að hún flýgur heimsenda á milli á einu ári. Ef þú ferð nálægt hreiðri þeirra, steypa þær sér niður að höfðinu á þér og reyna að gogga í þig og jafnvel skíta á þig. Þær eru eins og litlir fljúgandi bardagamenn.

The Arctic tern is the greatest traveller on Earth. It lays 1 to 3 eggs in Iceland, then flies all the way to Antarctica for winter. That means it flies from one end of the world to the other every year! But be careful, if you go near their nests, they will dive at your head and try to poop on you. They are like tiny flying fighters.
